Kokino - Myth

In 2001 archeologist Jovica Stankovski from the National Museum from Kumanovo-Republic of Macedonia, discovered a huge site with terracotta from the Bronze Age near the village of Kokino. According to the dimensions and the type, this site is distinct from all archeological sites seen up till then. The site covers an area of 5000 sq m, scale like established in two platforms right beneath the mountaintop of Taticev Kamen with an altitude of 1013 meters. At first glance the stone seats called thrones crafted into the rock and positioned in the north-south direction are dominant on this site. In that way a person seated on one of the thrones is turned towards the east horizon so that, among archeologists, arose an idea of existence for a possibility celestial objects to be observed in that way.
In 2002 physicist Gjore Cenev from the Planetarium at MKC in Skopje got involved in the researches of the site and made the first more comprehensive archeo-astronomical analysis. In the site, the central position was located for observation of celestial objects as well as existence of seven markers made in vertical rocks used for marking the positions of rising for the Sun and the Moon.

Are we addicted to Comuters?

In the last few years the Internet has become a widespread phenomenon around the world. People have started to use the computer like they used to watch TV.

It is, in fact, very comfortable just to sit down and have a chat with somebody from South Africa about fishing and get some important advice.

Whenever we get hungry, we simply order a pizza through the Internet. While we are waiting for the food, we send an important e-mail to a business concerning some stock sales for tomorrow.

To make a long story short, we just don't have much time for communication with people anymore. Besides, there is so much information available that when we once start surfing the Internet, we are hardly able to drag ourselves away from the computer. There are a lot of people who are addicted to TV and watch it 5 to 7 hours a day,and I believe using the computer is becoming an addiction, too.

A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from the nuclear reaction of fission or from a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release vast quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter; a modern thermonuclear weapon weighing little more than a ton can produce an explosion comparable to the detonation of more than a billion kilograms of conventional high explosive. The largest nuclear weapon ever detonated, the Tsar Bomb, had a yield of approximately 50 megatons of TNT and even small nuclear devices with yields equivalent to only a few thousand tons of TNT can devastate a city. Because of their extreme destructive power, nuclear devices are weapons of mass destruction.

Only two nuclear weapons have been detonated offensively, both by the USA during the closing days of World War II. The first was detonated on the morning of 6 August 1945, when the United States dropped a gun-type device code-named "Little Boy" on the Japaneese city of Hiroshima. The second was detonated three days later when the United States dropped a plutonium implosion-type device code-named "Fat man" on the city of Nagasaki. These bombings resulted in the immediate deaths of around 120,000 people from injuries sustained from the explosion and acute radiation sickness, and even more deaths over time from long-term effects of radiation. The use of these weapons was and remains controversial

The city was evacuated in 1986 due to the
Chernobil disaster at the Chenobil nuclear power plant,
which is located 14.5 kilometers (9 miles) north-northwest.
The power plant was named after the city, and located
within Chernobyl Raion, but the city was not the
residence of the power plant workers. Together with the
power plant construction, Prypjat, a city, which was larger
and closer to the power plant, was built to be home for
the power plant workers.

Though the city is today mostly uninhabited, a small number of inhabitants reside in houses marked with signs stating that the "Owner of this house lives here". Workers on watch and administrative personnel of the Zone of alientation are stationed in the city on a long term basis. Prior to its evacuation, the city was inhabited by about 15,000 residents.
